Albany County so} Elizabeth Denison of Bern Co., in State aforesaid being [?] sworn says her former name was Spencer that she was 70 years of age the 3rd day of July last that she was living a home in her Fathers family at then LittleHoosick Albany Co. now Stphentown Ressalaer Co. Said within one mile of the residence of James Jones of the same place now deceased that she was acquainted with said Jones And in the year 1781 he the said Jones came to her Fathers and called for her oldest brother Nickolas Spencer to go with him as a soldier in the service of his country that Nickolas was willing to go but his mother objected saying he was young - Jones said then was a majority for it for the enemy and the Indians and Tories were coming down and they must be [?] and where it was found that Nickolas was want to go his Mother addressed herself to Jones & said now if Nicholas gets killed I shall charge it all to you and you being an officer & going with him I committ his charge to you & you must take care of him when they weren't on how long from home cannot say [members] having Nicholas say after their return home that there [?] the hills of Saratoga
