Triplett Family - Shirley Greene Triplett - page 5 - Working for Santa Fe Railroad

These are 2 items that my Grandfather Shirley Greene Triplett - aka "Tripp" - carried with him or used while working for Santa Fe in and around 1910. This knife was made by an old "Mexican" woman close to Barstow California. Brian was going to get a pouch for it made, but the person who made leather goods is no longer in business.

This leather pouch is from the same time that the knife was being used. There are 7 keys that fit into the lock. We think that the lock is "frozen" and would need to be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned. I used to play with them.
