Rank Family - Names and Dates - page 1

I found this letter in my Walkinshaw/Keiser/[and now] Rank family binder.

It reads:

     NB [?] I can find no further notice of John Michael Rank who appears to have been the progenitor of the Rank family-

          I think it is very probable that he emigrated to this country from the Palatinate as the name of a large number of persons residing in Earl Township are mentioned in the church records, all of whom came from the above mentioned section. It would almost appear that a colony of people from the Palatinate settled in that portion of Lancaster County between 1756 - 1760.
