This document reads as:
Know all men by these presents that we William Triplett and John Webb both of Wilkes County are held and firmly Bound unto Alexander Martin Esqr. Govenor in the Just sum of Five hundred pounds current money of North Carolina to which payment will and Truly to Be made we Bind our Selves our heirs [?] adm [?] Jointly Severall and firmly by those presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this 14th of February 1785.The Condition of the above Obligation is Such that whereas William Triplett hath made Application for a Licence for marriage to Be had and Solemnized Between him the said Triplett and Nancy Ferguson Now in Case hereafter there is no Lawfull Cause to Absolve the said Marriage then the Abe Obligation to Be Elects
