Triplett Family - Thomas Triplett - Signature

On October 24, 2022, I requested a copy of the signature of Thomas Triplett, that is housed in the Abbey Library, Westminster Abbey, London England. This is what was sent to me within a week.

A "Minument" [pronounced myu-ne-ment]is defined by Merriam-Webster as:

1. the evidence (such as documents) that enables one to defend the title to an estate or a claim to rights and privileges - usually used in plural

2. archaic: a means of defense.

First Known Use of muniment

15th century, in the meaning defined at sense 1

As requested by the Abbey Library, I have changed the above image to a PDF image.

The book is by Anthony Thysius, 1649 "C. Sallustin Crispi Operahis."

This is her response to me, via email:

Dear Myra
The Revd Dr Thomas Triplet (Triplett) is buried in the south transept of the Abbey with a memorial tablet. See his entry on our website for a translation of this inscription - if you have not already seen this.

We have no evidence that he took Cartwright as his middle name, nor that he ever married. He did not mention any wife or children in his will, as you will know as you seem to have a copy.

There are around 40 books of his in our library so obviously we cannot give you all these titles - most are in Latin, some in Greek.

I attach a small image of his signature in one of his books here - he uses Triplet as the spelling. This is just for your personal use not for any social media.

I sent Christine Reyn a very very heartfelt thank you for her assistance in this matter. This was an extraordinary request of her and she fulfilled it to my satisfaction.

Currently I am working on extending our Triplett history to include Thomas.
