Jones Family - James Jones Pension - page 27



State of New York
Rensselaer County}

       On the 24th day of February 1838 personally appeared
before me Peter Hull of Berlin
in the County & State aforsaid
who being first duly sworn by
me according to Law doth on
his oath says that he had resided
from 1776 in Little Hosick now
Berlin down to the present time
& within Two miles of the residence

of the late Cahtarne Jones
Denison & knows that the
Said James Denison - was
an office in the Militia &
a whig committee man, &
was distinguished [?] by zeal
& activity in the cause of his
country. and this deponent has always understood, that up to his death in 1778 he was engaged in the various militia services rendered the United States, in that agigated & disturbed section of the Country during those periods.
