Mrs. G. S. Triplett Was Over 93 Years of Age - Funeral Monday.
Mrs. Golson S. Triplett died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Perry, west of this city, on Saturday, January 12, 1929, at the age of 93 years and 7 months. Her early life was passed in Pike county until the death of her husband, twenty-eight years ago, and since that time she has made her home among her children, being with her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Perry at the time of her death. Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Rife, other daughters were also with the mother during her last illness.
Dinitia F. Bradshaw was born June 13 1835 in Pike county, Illinois. She was married to Golson S. Triplett in 1853 and to this union 9 children were born, three dying in early infancy. Those surviving her are two sons, and four daughters, namely; Thos. T. Triplett of Pasadena, Calif., Lewis Triplett of Burbank, Califor., Mrs. Vesta Murchy of Bellingham, *Wash., Mrs. Anneliza Cox of S[L]ong Lake, Minn., Mrs. Nan Rife of Amarillo, Texas and Mrs. Mattie Perry of near Barry. She also leaves twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
She united with the Barry Baptist church December 20, 1903 and was a regular attendant when her health permitted. The little log cabin where the marriage of this mother and father took place 76 years ago, still stands on the farm of Mrs. Mattie Perry.
The funeral service was conducted at 1:00 o'clock Monday afternoon, January 14, 1929, at the Barry Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. W. H. Dickman, officiating. Burial was made in Park Lawn Cemetery.
This lady, Denitia F. Bradshaw, was my Grandfather's grandmother on his father's side. Her name isn't on Golson's headstone but she is there.
