Roushall Family - Dorothy Maxine Roushall - page 3

Miss Roushall, Paul Starr Are Married
Miss Dorothy Roushall and Paul Starr of Auberry were married at a ceremony conducted last evening in the Church of the Good Shepherd in Reedley.
Reb. Arthur L. Walters officiated at the rites. Incidental music was played by Joel Smith. Preceding the marriage James Fairweather of Los Angeles, a cousin of the bride, played solo selections on a muted cornet. The former Miss Roushall was given in marriage by her father, J. Roushall of Reedley.
Floor length dirndl styled gowns were worn by the bride and her attendants, Mrs. G. Allen Cherry and Miss Jane Olson, the former dressed in powder blue and the latter in delicate pink. Both are Omega Xi Omicron Sorority sisters of Mrs. Starr.
An all white starched lace gown over white satin was chosen by the bride. It had a crossed bodice shirred in a bouffant skirt, and short sleeves shirred at the shoulder. With this she wore a shoulder length veil caught to a stiffened lace heart shaped coronet, and carried a French bouquet of gardenias and lilies of the valley.]
Mrs. Cherry and Miss Olson's frocks were designed of starched lace  over taffeta shirred at the waist and at the shoulders. The skirts were full and the bodices, which were shirred down the front were clipped at each side with pearled ornaments. They carried field flower bouquet of carnations, bachelor buttons and sweet peas, and were small clusters of these flowers in their hair.
Phillip Andrews, a cousin of the bridegroom, was the best man, and Kermit Koontz, Harry Andrews and S. D. Hardison of Reedley were the ushers.

relatives later gather in the garden of the Roushall home, where refreshments were served. Miss Catherine Walton of Sanger and Evelyn Hardison of Reedley, cousins of the bride, assisted in service.
Mrs. Roushall and Mrs. Hugh Linthieum of Sacramento, mothers of the newlyweds, received the guests, the former dressed in old rose hued lace and the latter in a blue sheer gown. Each wore a gardenia corsage.
The couple left later last night for Southern California, where Starr will do post graduate work at the University of Southern California. They will return here at the end of six weeks for a short visit before school opens at Auberry, where Starr is employed as assistant coach at the Sierra Union High School.
The former Miss Roushall is a niece of Mrs. Esley H. Walton, at whose Sanger home she announced her betrothal. She was graduated from the Reedley High School and the Reedley Junior College before coming to the Fresno State College, from which she was graduated last year. During the past year she has been employed in the Sanger schools.

Starr also resided in Fresno while taking post graduate work at the local college. He made his home here with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Andrews, the latter his mother's sister. M. L. Starr of Cody Wyo., is his father.
The bridegroom came to the Pacific Coast from Wyoming, where he was graduated from the Cody High School. He attended Stanford University and was graduated from the University of Oregon, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. Starr has coached at Auberry for the past year.

I think that Mrs. Hugh Linthieum, is actually Grandma Hildegarde. This makes me wonder if she was married 4 times not 3! I wish she would come back sometime and let me know!
