This is a clipping from The Fresno Guide, Thursday, October 19, 1950. The page in the paper was "SOCIETY and CLUB NEWS", by Ruth Olney. This reads as:
Miss Lorna Triplett,Myron Winch to Wed
The betrothal of Miss Lorna Triplett to Myron Winch was announced at a barbeque supper given in the garden of the home of the latter's mother. Mrs. Emily Winch, on First Street. On a wall in the home hung two hearts with pictures of the new home being built by the couple. The two names decorated salad molded in heart shape.
The bride-to-be is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Triplett and is a former student at Roosevelt High School. She is employed by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, as is her fiance.
Winch, son of Mrs. Emily Winch of this city and Cecil Winch of Ukiah, was graduated from Fresno High School and served in the army air corps. He is a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Picture inset reads as "Miss Lorna Triplett whose betrothal to Myron Winch was announced during a barbecue supper."
[This was a mixed marriage! Fresno High and Roosevelt High were arch enemies of each other.]
