And YES! That is his real name - Shirley. According to my grandfather, another Shirley Green (Triplett) the girls stole the name from the boys.
I believe that my grandfather - Shirley Green Triplett, was named for his mother's - Ida Green Triplett - in honor of the brother that she had lost in California.
When Andrew was 2 years old, Andrew, myself, Lorna Winch, and maybe Brian, traveled up HiWay 99 to visit Pulaski and Shirley Greene's gravesite.
The cemetery was a mess! Apparently there had been vandals hacking at some of the monuments. We found Pulaski's marker which had been pushed over, but couldn't find baby Shirley's.
After we had taken a rubbing (which you aren't supposed to do anymore), and were traveling back to my parents house in Fresno, Mom and I looked at each other and said "Shirley's inscription was on the other side of Pulaski's!"

At about the same time I figured out what the inscription on Pulaski's side of the monument, but have since lost it. As soon as I find it I will post it.
